Next Steps
-
I don’t live in Oxfordshire. Can I still book a consultation or treatment with Mr Kothari at The Manor Nuffield, Oxford?Absolutely. As a specialist in his field, Mr. Kothari treats patients from across the UK and from overseas too.
-
Can any orthopaedic consultant see my child, or should it be a specialist paediatric orthopaedic surgeon like Mr Kothari? It is routine practice for orthopaedic surgeons who predominantly treat adults to accept referrals for children, however few are appropriately trained to comprehensively evaluate and treat conditions specific to a paediatric population. It is also worth noting, few private hospitals permit surgery for paediatrics. Mr. Kothari is recognised by and covered under all major insurers, including Aviva, AXA, BUPA, WPA, Vitality and The Exeter. You have the right to ask your insurer that your child is seen by a specialist paediatric orthopaedic surgeon from the outset.
-
I have been advised my child needs to have an MRI scan, I am not local to Oxford, can this be done locally to reduce travel? With consent from your insurer this can be arranged. Please note it can take up to 5 working days for radiology reports to be sent from other sites to The Manor Nuffield. Many parents will opt to bring their child back to The Manor Nuffield for an MRI scan as the report is usually available 24-48 hours after the scan. Follow-up appointments with Mr Kothari to discuss radiology reports can be carried out via video link.
-
My child has been referred to Mr Kothari for surgery, what is the wait time for Mr Kothari?Mr Kothari has regular operating lists at The Manor Nuffield, Oxford. We would expect the wait time not to exceed one month.
